DID I WIN?
It took me 27 years of breathing to be garbed this way.
This toga is the outfit that I coveted all my life.
Without knowing, this requires so many sacrifices.
A vast gulf between what I desiderate and what I deserve must have crossed and, the rest depends on my deeds.
Regrets did cross my mind,
Tears did flow,
Heart did break,
Stomach got empty
Sometimes, I lose my mind.
Some muttered:
"What took you so long?"
"Why did you settle for less?"
"You are just wasting your time!"
"That won't bring you anywhere."
Some were disappointed with my career.
Some pulled me down, some created hurdles along the way, while some stayed and woke me from my sleep.
But still, the summation of those someone became a collection of experiences called lessons which serve as a building block to upgrade me.
Today I have proved that loss is not final.
Hope faded my regrets,
Hope dried my tears,
Hope fixed my heart,
Hope survived hunger,
and it defied all odds.
After everything, I asked myself again, did I win?
But now, my question turned into an answer.
I WON!!! I WON!!! I WON!!!
